Have you picked up the July issue? If not, you must! Please read all about our Malibu Coast AVA and how we built this campaign to bring overdue credit to our wine region!
What is an AVA? Sure, The official definition "An American Viticultural Area (AVA) is a designated wine grape-growing region in the United States distinguishable by geographic features, with boundaries defined by the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) of the United States Department of the Treasury." What does that mean to you? It means that our government has acknowledged that the grape growing environment in Malibu is so unique and yummy we get to label wines grown in our area as 'made in malibu'. So when you see NAPA or SONOMA on your next bottle of wine? You can also now look for MALIBU COAST and truly sip the sunshine of our beautiful community.
Cheers to Malibu Solstice Wines!

Finding music for your wedding can be almost as stressful as the venue search. Really. Music and the team that manages the wedding day schedule music be in sync with every piece, your planner and be able to make changes on the spot to keep the party moving. Try not to book a regular band for your event, I mean, I'm sure they sound amazing in your favorite bar or club, but event musicians are special. Event musicians know how to work with your planner and vendors, they can calm down the clients or change up a set list so that the dancefloor stays packed. People typically won't remember what they had to eat at your wedding, but they probably will remember if the music was crappy.
So here comes a new favorite of ours, Aaron Durr. Not only is his voice yummy but his live entertainment is show stopping. Click here, www.aarondurr.com/events, 323-902-7405
Take a little break from your routine today to watch the wedding of Nieves & Terry on March 11th presented by Belscope Weddings.
The couple (adorable, duh) hosted one of our favorite wedding styles ever - small and intimate. They were able to take advantage of every moment, every part and piece of the Estate and end the day with a grand dinner indoors by their personal chef.
Congratulations you two! Come visit on your first anniversary!
That's right. Why not. Our owners are so cool. They have decided to give everyone the chance to have a magical mountain top, ocean view, vineyard wedding. The sweepstakes starts on April 1st, you can see the link to the sweeps on our home page, in the top navigation. Even if you don't win we are going to host a special day for all entrants to come out and take engagement photos on the property. Pack a picnic lunch, bring the kids, stay awhile.
But seriously folks, 'Win a Wedding', please share!
To our booked 2016 brides, please give us a holla to book your final walk throughs with our Estate Staff. Even if you aren't a MSV bride, you should be making sure you get this on your planner's calendar. It's the essential last step to make sure everything at your venue is 100% per your own plan!
Here are some of the questions we take during this walk through...feel free to use these for your meeting. It's such great peace of mind to get these last questions answered at least 30 days before your wedding day.
This is what we ask/tell our clients:
What time will you and your bridal party be arriving? The fellas? Are you doing a first look?
Are you coming ready or do you need to change? Please do not plan on doing hair and makeup here, just touch ups.
Please give us a list of all of your vendors, copies of their insurance with COI's naming MSV as additionally insured.
We need your timeline! When is the first vendor arriving? How many vendors? Have they scouted the venue? If not we need to do a scout with them immediately so they understand the details of the estate.
Who is the main contact in your bridal party? And your event planner's information please?
At MSV we have on site coordinators at all times. This may or may not be the case at your venue. Make sure you ask who is the main point of contact at your venue for the entire day, including load in and load out, and trash removal!
